Daniel Taylor,  78 passed away at his home on February 4, 2008 in Harriman, Tennessee.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church in Harriman, Tennessee.  He was preceded in death by his parents Dollie Hanks Taylor and Solomon Taylor and two grandsons, Kendall Taylor II and Solomon Taylor.

He retired from A.B. Long Construction Company after more than 50 years of service and his area of specialty was explosives.  He was an avid gardener who shared his flowers with people in nursing homes, hospitals and churches.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Constance Taylor, his children Daniel W. Taylor (Patricia) of Harriman, Tennessee;  G. Christine Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio;  Larry Taylor (Joyce) of Atlanta, Georgia;  Kendall Taylor (Stacy) of Atlanta, Georgia;  and David Goins (Jan) of Knoxville, Tennessee.

He had eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral arrangements will be managed by Evans Mortuary of Rockwood where the friends will be received 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, February 8, 2008.  The service will follow with Pastor Jesse L. Williams officiating.
