Mr. Clifford “Dude” Russell, age 88, a resident of N. Douglas Avenue, Rockwood, TN passed away Monday, March 3, 2008 at his home. He was born March 1, 1920 in Rockwood, TN. Mr. Russell was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Rockwood where he also served as Deacon, Elder, and former Youth Director. He was a retired chemical operator with Y-12 Union Carbide Martin Marietta with 44 years of service and was a member of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union. Mr. Russell was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #50 in Rockwood, TN. He is remembered as a friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. & Fannie Mae Marshall Russell, wife, Reba Barnes Russell; sister, Cynthia “Sis” Hawn; and sister-in-law, Vivian Russell.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. from the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Rockwood with Rev. Kara Kleinshimdt officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood with full military honors by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 5, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ; 328 W Rockwood Street; Rockwood, TN 37854.
