Mary, I taught with Richard at the Roane Co. Vocational Center on Oliver Springs Highway during the late 70's.  He was an outstanding teacher, a professional co-worker, and a caring person of integrity.  He leaves a great legacy with his many students.  I am so sorry to hear of his death.  I enjoyed seeing he and you during those few reunions that we had several years later.  My prayers are with you.

The Roane County Park Superintendent's house is a lasting memorial to Mr. McCuiston's skill and leadership.  He and his students worked with the county government to build this beautiful building.  I recall that he watched over every detail and often required his students to redo work which didn't meet his standards.   On a personal note, I got to know Mr. McCuiston during the construction and always considered him a friend.  My condolences to his wife and family.
