Mr. Jesse Samuel “Sambo” Howard, Sr., age 84, of Dowlen Road, Harriman, TN, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 at his home. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Harriman and was retired from K25 after 38 years of service. Preceded in death by first wife, Elizabeth Howard; parents, Henry & Lena Howard; son, Charles Howard; sisters, Frances Rogers, Bonnie Williams & Luvenia Buchannon; brother, James “Jimbo” Howard.

Survivors include:

Wife:                      Helen Howard of Harriman, TN

Daughter:             Betty Moore & husband, Wayne of Rockwood, TN

Son:                       Sam Howard & wife, Nancy of Hermitage, TN

Eight Grandchildren; Seven Great Grandchildren

Sister:                    Minnie Abels of Daysville, TN

Host of nieces & nephews

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 10, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Evans Mortuary. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Spencer Garner & Nathan Williams officiating. Graveside service will be Monday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
