Mr. Lewis Hatfield, age 84, a resident of Eblen Gap Road, Rockwood, TN passed away Friday, February 1, 2008 at his home. He was born December 20, 1923 in the Pine Orchard community of Morgan County, TN. Mr. Hatfield was a lifetime member and Deacon of the Pine Orchard Baptist Church; a retired carpenter with Martin Marietta Y-12; a U.S. Army Veteran and P.O.W. of WWII; and a member of the American Legion. He was a wonderful man who loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mason & Adra Wright Hatfield; wife of 54 years, Thelma Smith Hatfield; infant son, Darrell Hatfield; and sisters, Helen Arnold and Lucy Page.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Pine Orchard Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Thomas officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Pine Orchard Cemetery in Morgan County, TN. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Orchard Baptist Church Building Fund; 206 Pine Orchard Road; Oakdale, TN 37829.
