Mr. Paul Griffin Mitchell, age 70, of Florence, Alabama passed away at home Monday morning, October 27, 2008 after an extended illness.  A member of the First Baptist Church in Rockwood, he was a retired paper & fiber operation manager with CSX Transportation.  Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents Paul “Pat” and Julia Mitchell;  and a sister Patty Jo Craddock.

Survivors include:

Sons                         Mike Mitchell (Marnie) of Birmingham, Alabama
                                   Mark Mitchell of Florence
Brother                      Bill Mitchell (Angela) of Talbott
Sister                         Martha Mingis of Smyrna
Grandchildren          Maddie Clare, Paul and Skyler

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 3:00 pm from the First Baptist Church in Rockwood with Randy Lee officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Rockwood at 309 North Chamberlain Ave; Rockwood, Tenn 37854 (865)354.3300.
