Mr. Thomas Payne “Tommy” Hamlett, age 72, of the Pumphouse Road in Rockwood, passed away Monday, December 10, 2007 in the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.  A dedicated and active member of the South Harriman Baptist Church, he was a US Navy and Marine Corps Veteran; a longtime supervisor of Roane Electric Furnace and IMCO Recycling Company;  a member of Rockwood Lodge #403 F&AM;  a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason (Chattanooga);  and a member of VFW Post 4782 and American Legion Post 50 in Rockwood.  Mr. Hamlett was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marjorie Hamlett;  a sister, Virginia Goldston;  and two brothers, Hoyt and Robert Hamlett.

Survivors include:

Wife                           Sandra Vance Hamlett of Rockwood
Sons                          Tony Hamlett and wife Pam of Martinsville, Virginia
                                    Chris Hamlett of Marietta, Georgia
Grandchildren           Adam, Cody, Victoria and Hunter
Greatgrandchildren  Faith Elizabeth, Gavin, Jasmine and McKensie
Sister                          Myra Halburnt of Oliver Springs
Many Special nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 8:00 pm from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Randy Maxwell and Bro. Ken Isham officiating.  Interment will be Friday at 10:00 am in the Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Evans Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the South Harriman Baptist Church’s Benevolence Fund.
