Mrs. Ruby Irene Edmonds, age 97, of the Persimmon Road in Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008 in the Four Oaks Health Care Center in Jonesborough.  She was a member of the Union Chapel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by parents Samuel Moore & Alice Vica Harvey Brooks; brothers Fred & Willis Brooks; sisters Eula Mae & Mattie Brooks, Vida Wyatt, and Mary Ruth Brooks Edmonds; husband L.H. Edmonds.

Survivors include:

Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 8:00 pm from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Ronnie Nichols and Mark McCoig officiating.  Interment will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Lawnville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Evans Mortuary.
