Mr. John B. Dean, age 80, of Black Creek Road, Rockwood, TN passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was born May 17, 1928 to John B. & Sallie Cox Dean. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. Mr. Dean was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Roddy, TN; a retired executive chef with Gaston Country Club in Gastonia, North Carolina; a member and past master of Rhea Springs Lodge #310 F&AM in Spring City; a 32nd degree mason; KYCH York Rite Mason; member Rhea Springs Chapter Royal Arch Masons; Drummond Council Cryptic Masons; Plateau Commandry Knights Templar; Alhambra Shrine Temple; and a former president of Roane County Shrine Club. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Marvin Dean.

Sons:                  John R. Dean & wife, Lisa & son, Logan of Rockwood, TN
                             Roger Dean & wife, Anna of Florida
                             Darrell Dean & wife, Terry of Florida
                             Tony Dean & wife, Kim of Florida

Host of grandchildren & great grandchildren

Brother:               Tom Dean & wife, ReneĆ©  of Florida
                            
Sister:                  Betty Patterson of Florida

Nephew:             Greg Patterson of Florida

The family will receive friends Monday, December 1, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Evans Mortuary. Masonic and funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Graveside service and interment will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Glen Alice Cemetery.
