Mrs. Deirdre Elizabeth Cooper, age 51, a resident of Rockwood, TN passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 at her home. She was born December 27, 1956 in Knoxville, TN. Mrs. Cooper was an avid reader; an outgoing free spirit who never met a stranger; and was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Edward Cate.

                                      Matthew Cate  & fiancé, Shanna Koger of Tunnel Hill, GA

Grandchildren:           Aiden James Cooper, Jordan Zimmerman, Camron Cooper, and Riley Adian Cate

Mother:                        Thelma Cate of Anderson, SC
Brother:                       Don Cate of Alcoa, TN

Step-son:                    Wayne Cooper of Rockwood, TN

Mother-in-law:            Mahalia Cooper of Rockwood, TN

Brother-in-law:          Shirley Cooper of Rockwood, TN

Special Friends:         Lisa Johnson of Knoxville, TN
                                      Mary & Larry Crawley of Chattanooga, TN

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary. Interment will be held at a later date in the Glen Alice Cemetery in Rockwood. Memorial contributions may be made C/O Evans Mortuary; P.O. Box 6; Rockwood, TN for funeral expenses.
