Mr. James Maurice Tomme, age 69, a resident of Rockwood, TN passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Hillcrest Healthcare North in Knoxville, TN. He was born July 17, 1940 in Brownwood, TX to Samuel Louis & Ruby Wilson Tomme. Mr. Tomme retired from U.S. Department of Energy Y-12 complex, serving his last years as a truck driver. He was a loving father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

 

Survivors include:

 

Daughter & Son-in-law: Kim & Randy Webb of Powell, TN

 

Grandchildren: Allee & Colton Webb of Powell, TN

 

Brother:  Jessie Tomme & wife, Wileen of TX

 

Sisters: Bernice Seals of TX

 Nell Oliver of TX

And several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Associate Pastor Mike Powell officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 12 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church; 7706 Ewing St.; Powell, TN 37849.

Uncle James was a very special person. He had a big heart and great sense of humor. I have fond memories of the family gatherings at Granny and Papaws in Coleman, Texas.
I'm sure he, Uncle Harvey, and Uncle Juel are at some fishin' hole up there in Heaven right now.
