Mrs. Verdia Lee Edwards Stegall Pass, age 78, Pumphouse Road, Rockwood, TN died Monday, July 5, 2010 in the Life Care Center in Athens, TN. She was born August 10, 1931 in Roane County, TN to Frank Lee and Flora Florence Hyder Edwards. Mrs. Pass was a member of Community Baptist Church, Rockwood, where she served as the custodian. She worked as a presser at the Gateway Cleaners and One Hour Martinizer and was formerly a boarder at Burlington Socks. Besides her parents Mrs. Pass was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Mae Stamey; son, Chester “Junior” Stegall; grandsons, Kenny Stegall, Jr. and Randy Stamey; and granddaughter, Audrea Rodgers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. The funeral will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home’s Chapel with Rev. Jerry Leffew and Rev. Eddie Neely officiating. Graveside and interment will be held Saturday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Swan Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.
