Mrs. Alice Lowery, 87, Dogwood Road, Rockwood, TN died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at her home.  She was born November 14, 1922 in Cumberland County, TN to Pleasant Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Houston Smith.  Mrs. Lowery was a 54 year member of Grievers Chapel Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Wilburn Lowery; sisters, Edith Glenn Harris, Anna Laura Smith, Cora Marie Pugh & Ida Mae Redwine; and brothers, William Taft Smith, Delmer Doug Smith, Kermit Smith and Clyde Elmo Smith.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 25, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (EST) at Evans Mortuary, Rockwood.  The funeral will follow in the funeral home’s chapel at 8:00 p.m. with Dudley Evans and Billy Smith officiating.  Graveside and interment will be held Saturday, June 26 at 11:00 a.m. (EST) in the Hedgecoth Cemetery, Crossville, TN.
