Mrs. Alta Shannon Johnson, 73, Crandall, GA, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center, Dalton, GA.  She was born January 20, 1936 in Scott County, TN. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church in Sunbright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Johnson; parents, Hurstle Joseph and Ida Hamby Shannon; brothers, Elzic Shannon, Elvin Shannon and Oskel Shannon; sisters, Elbia Todd and Ethia Smith.

 

Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Ellis of Robbins, TN and Estle Blaylock of Harriman, TN and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary, Rockwood with Rev. Mason Goodman officiating.  Graveside services and entombment will follow at Roane Memorial Gardens, Rockwood.  The family will receive friends Friday, January 15 from 12-2 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary.
