Mr. David L. “Ed” Goney, age 54, a resident of Rockwood, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ , Monday, February 1, 2010 in the Roane Medical Center, Harriman, TN. He was born December 6, 1955 in Rockwood, TN to Lonzy Dave & Demaries Foust Goney. Mr. Goney was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Rockwood and was a former longtime member of the Eagle Furnace Baptist Church in Rockwood. He was a machinist for the former Richards Industries. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonzy Dave Goney.

 

Survivors include:

 

Wife:                                       Elene Goney of Rockwood, TN

 

Mother:                                   Demaries Goney of Rockwood, TN

 

Sons:                                      Anthony Dave Goney of Rockwood, TN

                                                Travis Goney & wife, Talisha of Kingston, TN

 

Grandchildren:                     Alicia Goney and Isaiah Goney and an expected grandchild

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Wayne Burnette and Rev. Doyle Bowen officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made for funeral expenses.
