Mrs. Violet Wallace Bowers (Nana), age 80, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Roane Medical Center with her family by her side.  She was born October 8, 1929 in Rockwood, Tennessee to Paul and Eunice McKinney Wallace.  Mrs. Bowers was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church and she enjoyed traveling with her best friend, Virginia Evans.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and great granddaughter, Mackenzie Boles.

 Survivors include:

 Husband of 64 years:                   Floyd R. Bowers of Rockwood, TN

 Daughter:                                        Brenda Boles & husband, Rev. G.W. of Powell, TN

 Son:                                                  Tommy Bowers & wife, Joyce of Rockwood, TN

 Daughter:                                        Susan Patterson & husband, Claude of Morristown, TN

 Grandchildren:                               Bo Boles, Angie Cox, Christie Carr, Heather Raffield, Kayla Bowers,

                                                           Dustin and Bonnie Jo Patterson

 Great Grandchildren:                    Gracie & Jeb Cox, Chelsea Buchannon, Daylan Patterson, J.T. Raffield, Garrett &

                                                           Bryson Boles and Keyera Bowers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Evans Mortuary. The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. G. W. Boles officiating.  The interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asbury Chapel United Methodist Church.
